Learn more about Captain Ben Watts

Captain Ben Watts is the founder of Airline Pilot Performance.

Ben has over 20 years of commercial flying experience and in that time has accumulated over 11,000 hours of flight experience, in aircraft ranging from post First World War Tiger Moths, to supersonic Hawker Hunters and of course, the mighty Boeing 737.

He started his professional career as a Flight Instructor based at historic Biggin Hill, where he taught a wide ranging syllabus, from introductory first lessons to Night and IMC ratings. In 2003, Ben moved to Cranfield to teach the Commercial Pilot and Instrument Syllabus, before joining KLM UK on the Boeing 737-300 operating for Buzz.

Shortly after, in 2004, Buzz was bought out and Ben began his Operator Conversion Course onto the newer Boeing 737-800 NG.

Since then, Ben moved onto get his Command in 2008 at the age of 28, and 10 years later qualified as a Boeing Type Rating Instructor and Examiner.

Ben's vast experience, combined with his calm teaching techniques, will ensure you learn in a fun and relaxed environment.
